About Me

Dylan Smart

Hi there! I am a Durham College Graduate! Graduating from Interactive Media Design, I found an interest in so many different areas of multimedia and have become an aspiring Motion Graphics Artist and Front End Web Developer! Video production, motion graphics, photography, and web development have all become very large passions of mine and I have become so engaged with that type of work!

Beginning in the spring of 2018, I began as a work-study student at the Durham College C.A.F.E (Centre for Academic Faculty Enrichment) for nearly a year! My official title was "Multimedia Developer," and my responsibilities included, but were not limited to: Creating many video projects and being an integral part of the entire production process (from pre-production to post-production). I encourage you to check out some of my videos here. While I worked at the C.A.F.E, I also created a Dental Plaque Recorder that I highlighted as one of my favourite designs! You can find that here.

Following my work study position at Durham College, I was able to take my education in Interactive Media Design, and my experience in the workplace to SickKids Learning Institute! I was at the SickKids Learning Institute for 5 weeks as a "Digital Learning Student," which was a student placement position required to complete my education. I had the opportunity to develop learning modules for the staff members at SickKids. I personally was an integral member in the development of the Code of Conduct learning module. This module is a mandatory module for every single SickKids staff member to complete on an annual basis. That means over 12,000 individuals see it every year! That is so awesome! I had so much fun and learned so much at the SickKids Learning Institute. It felt so great to be able to make an impact with SickKids! I'll never forget my time there!

Since this is an about me section, how about I tell you a couple facts!

- I have never broken a bone! *Knock on wood*

- I love dogs and cats! They are just so cute. My favourite breed of dog is Husky, although, I have yet to adopt. I do own a cat though. His name is Dewey. He's the best.

- I love coffee! I'm a double-double kinda guy :)
